Sectionals have become something more and more people are asking for – but they still want to keep their space feeling fresh and modern, so what to do?  Luckily, there are lots of chic, customizable options available these days- including this one by Dana Gibson for MT Company, for example, with a pretty, sophisticated silhouette:

MT Company is a family run, MADE IN AMERICA company, and has a variety of customizable upholstery options.  There are tons of amazing chair, ottoman and sofa and sectional styles, with great  pricing and wonderful quality.  You can do COM, or choose from their many fabric choices (they just added over 225 new patterns this season!!)  Stop by the Hingham showroom to see a variety of fabric options you can choose from!  We have an MT sofa on the floor and some chairs on the way!.   Here are some other examples from their collection:
Another FAVE  from this past market is the collection of upholstery from Highland House.  Highland House is a sister company to Century Furniture, and features a high end, beautifully designed line of classic, sophisticated styles.  They just moved to a gorgeous new showroom in High Point, and each room was more divine than the next!  They also have some fantastic sectional styles along with sofas and chairs and case goods!  Here is one of our favorites, showcasing the collection designed by Bungalow Classic:

Highland House happens to make two of our favorite chairs. This one was just snatched up from the showroom (but don’t worry, we can order another one for you anytime (And yes, in Les Touches, too! ☺).  We love the deep seat and slimmer silhouette of this style,  it is super comfy:

We love the Sofa version, too –  and with this FRINGE trim…swoon!

The Sullivan Chair is a best-seller and this is also on it’s way to the showroom  so that our customers can come by and test it out!  All of these chair styles are available as swivel, as well , and sky is the limit as far as customization.Highland House also has some really great case goods– we scooped up this Patton Side Table for the showroom and love the scalloped detail that adds a beautiful touch – it looks great between 2 chairs!

Also loving this lacquered grasscloth cocktail table with brass capped feet – available in any Ben Moore finish!

Of course we continue to showcase the colorful and fun collection by Society Socialin the Showroom, too, who happens to also have incredible price points! There are lots of versatile, well priced styles in this line with a colorful twist.  These Stevie Swivel Chairs are to die for…and start at $995!  Chic AND affordable – what could be better than that?  We have this one in the showroom covered in Lacefield Sahara fabric…feel free to come by and take a spin!

And how fun is this Beverly Sofa with border trim on the cushions – you can even get this in performance fabric for under $2,000!

In addition to their upholstery, the Hingham Showroom also carries some great Society Social case goods – this raffia wrapped  Ming Console has been a best seller since it hit the floor.  We can’t keep it in stock!  Available in Navy and Natural, with pretty brass capped feet.  This is a classic: you can’t go wrong in any style room with this piece!

Summertime Finds from Trellis Home

After a looooong, cold winter and Spring here in New England, we are ready for some Rose and sunshine! A few hot days is all we needed to start getting our home ready for Summer. We saw some amazing new outdoor furniture collections in High Point this past month, and have also scouted some fantastic art and lighting to brighten your home with, as well. (image by Slim Aarons)
Our first new intro this season is an artist that we are thrilled to be carrying, Susan O’Donnell of Nantucket Gyotaku. She uses the ancient Japenese process of printing with real fish on linen. The best part is that each piece can be customized- pick your color linen, the size of the piece, the color of the fish, and the composition to make each piece your own. Her pieces are the perfect accent in coastal homes because they add color with sophistication, and the compositions make them unique. They can be grouped together for a particularly stunning effect and to fill up large scale walls.  You can see her work in the Master Bedroom we designed at the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism Week Show House in Palm Springs:

We have some beautiful pieces of various colors and sizes in our Showroom, as well.  Her work is seen in homes all over the country and we are very fortunate to be carrying her work here in Hingham. Stay tuned for a trunk show soon, where you can meet the artist and see more of her fabulous pieces!  Email us at contact@trellishome.com with inquiries and for pricing

Speaking of color, we can’t get enough of the Meg Caswell collection for Couture Lamps! These Kelly Green Sheridan lamps are flying off the shelf (they also come in coral, navy, and black!), and we also love the Greek Key design of the Aster Lamp (available in coral, white and kelly green).  Simply stunning! Not only are these lamps fun and whimsical, but they are surprisingly versatile- they sit well with many different styles of decor, adding just the right amount of “pop” to your room. We have lots of new lighting heading in, you can check them out in our online shop, https://trellishome.com/collections/lighting-new-arrivals

Next we take it outside with the amazing assortment of outdoor furniture from Selamat Designs! Cool sophistication with silhouettes you wouldn’t think of finding in an outdoor furniture collection, like this mid-century  inspired Soren Ventura Teak Lounge Chair with outdoor foam cushions covered in sunbrella….swoon!

We always go gaga over their Regency collection, reimagined for four-season outdoor use in powder-coated aluminum with Sunbrella-upholstered QuickDry Pillows.  Available in white or many bright fun colors like turquoise, yellow or red!

Throw in some fun outdoor pillows from Cotton and Quill and you have a space you will never want to leave…bring on the sun!

Some other fantastic lines of outdoor furniture we stumbled upon at High Point was the Brown Jordan (always classic) collection by Michael Smith. This vignette stopped us in our tracks!

Barclay Butera introduced a beautiful new line of outdoor furniture for Castelle. Chic blue and white with a nod to Hollywood Regency style. Right up our alley, sign us up! I’d like to be lounging on one of these chaises right now, in fact, with that very view….

To celebrate Memorial Day and the start of the season, we will be offering 15% off all items carried in our Summer Style category through next Wednesday, May 31st!  Shop it here at  www.trellishome.com or send us an email at contact@trellishome.com.

Cheers to Summer!

MUSINGS

FloBro Show House Get the Look

We had a delightful time in Palm Springs this February designing the bedroom of Kelly Lee (aka “Kelly Golightly”) and Fred Moser at the Christopher Kennedy Compound Modernism week Show House.  We were inspired by all of the incredible tastemakers this year who all turned out STUNNING rooms.

For the Master Bedroom we designed this year, we were fortunate enough to partner with the absolutely fabulous Bay Area furniture company, Selamat Designs.  One of their newest and most exciting lines is their collaboration with the Florence Broadhurst Estate – bringing to life the essence of the inimitable Australian design maven melded with distinctive, classic Selamat authenticity.

We are SO excited to be one of the only locations in New England to carry the incredible Florence Broadhurst line in our Showroom in Hingham, MA, both to the public and to the Trade.  Many of these pieces are either already in our Hingham showroom or available online at https://trellishome.com/collections/florence-broadhurst. , so we invite you to swing by and check out the collection!  We will also be having a Florify America pop up shop experience in Hingham early Fall and can’t wait to bring even more of this goodness back to the East Coast!

Let’s talk about some of our favorite pieces we used in the Master Bedroom of Villa Golightly…..beginning with the element that started it all –  this custom colored Florence Broadhurst “Cockatoo” wallpaper printed for us by Mitchell Black, using one of Florence’s famous patterns from the 1960’s.  We also had fabric printed from Australia to match, lining the inside of the bed canopy and the custom bedskirt. (Click on images for link)

Next we chose the perfect shade of white in Dunn Edwards “Whisper” for the walls and a calming pale blue called “Morning Calm” for the ceiling.  The floor was so large with 2 levels, so a beautiful marble was used for the sitting area while the lower part of the bedroom was wall-to-wall in the most gorgeous pale grey pattern by Stanton Carpet called “Hunter Hill” (color: Cirrus).  We are obsessed with this carpet and want to use it in every room!!! It’s a perfectly subtle pattern that gives just enough interest without being overbearing.

Then of course there are the AMAZING Jade lacquered raffia Shanghai 6-drawer dresser and Shanghai Jade Bedside Tables, featuring brass kabuki inspired hardware….SWOON! (click image for link):

A favorite accent were the Cockatoo Table Lamps that adorned the bedside tables and mimicked the wallpaper subject. Chic and whimsical at the same time, with a pretty Lucite base! And the super cool Syndey Mod Swirls Lamps were a perfect neutral lighting accent with a twist, on the dresser flanking the Shanghai Octagonal Mirror (also pictured above):

These rattan Sydney Mod Steps Barrel Chairs were front and center in the upper seating area, and really made a statement with their chic curved design, especially with the custom “Cockatoo” fabric on the seats to tie to the wallpaper and bed canopy!  These beauties are available in white or black, and come standard with off white canvas twill cushions but can be ordered COM as well:

The headboard of course was a main focus of the room, and we love this Florence Broadhurst Deco-inspired “Shanghai Tufted Headboard”.  We covered it in a Crypton Home fabric from Thibaut, called “Bailey”, which was the perfect neutral with a little bit of texture to show off this spectacular silhouette. The Florence Broadhurst “Solar Marine” and “Egrets Linen Topaz” throw pillows added the finishing touch. The Matouk Linens sheets folded over the Florence Broadhurst Matelassé Coverlet was just the sophisticated bedding combo this room needed to work with all the pattern and color surrounding it.

The mirrors from this collection are to die for, and we had a hard time choosing which ones to hang in the room!  The full collection is on our website, but here are a few others we included in our design.  The Shanghai Kabuki Mirror is made out of steel wire with convex mirror and was a stunner over the custom fireplace mantel!  The Sydney Mod Aubrey Clad mirror was the perfect bedside complement, but would also look beautiful over a fireplace or console:

And we would be remiss if we didn’t talk about this glamourous little “writing desk” area facing the pool.  The mirrored Shanghai Metropolis Console also serves as a chic desk or vanity, and we have it paired here with the Justinian Accent Chair and topped with the Shanghai Peacock Feathers Sculpture,  Shanghai Agate Tray, and pretty aqua Sydney Mod Diamond vases:

Although not part of the Florence Broadhurst Collection, the art we chose to feature on the walls was also a talking point of the room!  The stunning photograph called “Cabanas, Italy”, from Gray Malin’s new Italian Geometric collection took center stage on the main wall. This new series has just been released and is absolutely stunning – check it out on www.graymalin.com !

In the long hallway leading into the Master, guests were greeted by a beautiful custom Peacock painting by Jeffrey Mattia. Look closely, and you will see the names of Kelly Golightly, Palm Springs, Villa Golightly woven into the image -even a picture of the house among other personalized touches.  Jeff is an incredibly talented artist and can create just about anything you dream up to make it truly “yours”.  Check him out at www.jeffreyjmattiastudio.com and create your own custom piece!

The opposite wall featured the divine 5 foot tall Nantucket Gyotuku Fish painting Triptych.  These beautiful pieces by Susan O’Donnell are printed using real fish, an ancient Japanese art form called gyotuku. Hanging together in large scale, they created just the calming “aquarium-like” ethereal feeling needed as you entered the calm color scheme of the Master Bedroom.  These paintings can also be customized in almost any shade of linen, any color fish, and any size!  Contact our showroom for more info!

This is just a taste of how fabulous the Florence Broadhurst collection is – we had so much fun curating a room with this incredible line! Check out more of the collection here: https://trellishome.com/collections/florence-broadhurst. .  Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for sneak peeks as we visit the Selamat Showroom in High Point next week – always a highlight!
